2010 Zédé de Labégorce, Bordeaux, France, Margaux

Château Labégorce Zédé, the well-known Cru Bourgeois from the AOC Margaux and once owned by the Belgian Luc Thienpont, has totally disappeared starting from the harvest year 2009. It is totally immersed in Château Labégorce, a 55 hectare property .

It has always been the intention of the late Hubert Perrodo - founder of the Perenco oil group - that these domains would be unified. Before the French Revolution they formed a whole but in the years after they became independent entities. Earlier in 1989, he bought Château Labégorce and later the neighboring domains Château de l'Abbé Gorsse de Gosse in 2002 and Château Labégorce Zédé in 2005.

In 2006, a few months before his death due to a skiing accident, Perrodo also bought the underperforming Château Marquis d'Alesme Becker, a Troisième Cru Classe Margaux.

After his death, the plans were somewhat put on hold, but now his 27-years-old daughter Nathalie is in charge of the property and divides her time between Bordeaux and London. She thus carries out her father's wishes. There will be only one domain Château Labégorce, with a second wine Zédé de Labégorce ".

The wine is a blend of 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. Manual picking, green harvest, triage table. 12 months oak vatting.
